The NovaHost.org server appears to be under a DDoS attack at the moment. I am attempting to resolve the issue.

Ohh.. What a coincidence. My ISP was having problems to several US-based websites awhile ago.
I thought it was a problem with the ISP.
Will emails received during the downtime still retrievable?

Emails sent during downtime will not be received, unless the sender re-sends them (which most do automatically).

Any particular reason why this happened or did some jerk just want to have some fun at our expense?

DDoS: It is done by hacked computers (Zombie Computers) all around the world... It happens when the hacker tells all the hacked computers to access a site (in this case novahost). When all the computers start to access the website, the server hangs up and the website goes down...

Thanks for that information! I actually never knew that either. Gah, I hate hackers and the sort. I didn't notice it, but I had just gotten approved on the 3rd, so I suppose it doesn't count.

What will be the error report when the person who send email to any email address of the website which is down may get? is it a delivery failure notice? or he/she wont be notified, but the email will be automatically re-send by the email provider later?

If the resend fails, you should get a delivery failure notice.

It stands for Distributed Denial of Service. It's objective is to shutdown or slow down servers. Hackers have tried to take down the whole internet a couple of times too. Now tho if you try it, USA bomb you
