NovaTech Network is in for some exciting times. We have some very interesting projects getting ready for release in the coming months. In anticipation of continued growth, the staff and I have decided that a refresh of our community was needed.

From now on, Webmaster Hotspot (WHS) will now be known as NovaTech Forums (NTF).

What the new name means now:
  • Forums will continue to focus on NovaTech Network's main user base; Webmasters and Computer Enthusiasts
  • Upgrade to the new IPB 3.0 forum software
  • Earning points will be offline for a short time (your current points are safe)

What's in store:
  • Further integration of NTN's current and future sites into the community
  • A marketplace for webmasters and internet entrepreneurs
  • More to come as we continue to expand!

If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, feel free to post them here.

Thanks,
Nathan

Wow ! Really the forum looks so good. Very happy to see that the forum's old style has been changed few hours back. Congrats to http://novatechforums.com/ . Today few hours back when i tried to login it's shown that forum is down for maintenance and ask to come back after sometimes. I was sure that Nathan was updating the forum to newer version or adding a new theme. But i never expect that he'll also change the forum's address. I like the new address of the forum http://novatechforums.com/ . Also i'm happy to know that many updates will be coming to our novahost. All the best nathan and all other staffs working for our novahost community.
Free Tricks - more tricks and free fun stuffs will be posted soon.

Best Regards,
Pratish | WebFoil.com

Sweet! I love the new style and the cleanness of it... Also.. I sense that it is MUCH faster.

That being said, are you going to design a template one yourself, or are you just going to use the stock template?

I am kind of disappointed in some lack of Ajax stuff (I was hoping for some Ajax login or something, but no, I needed to go to a new page to login), but overall, it's good.

The stock template looks fine don't you think peter?

Also yeah I wish there was an ajax login also, it would be much better :)

Jamie

Well, I am not saying it doesn't look fine, in fact it looks AWESOME. However, as more people upgrade/use IPB3, NTF is going to then look like every other site.

Eeeeg. This is disorienting. I'm noticing a post rating feature - do members get to use this, or is it just moderators? If all members do, I encourage everyone to start rating up informative posts.

I don't like the position of names - they're too far from the actual post text itself. I'm thinking it should be something more like

[avatar]      [user name] on [date]:
[misc data]   [post content]

OH WOW THE NEW CODE BOX IS WONDERFUL. I've been using [box] mainly because I didn't like the ugly bar that says "CODE" above it, and this fixes my complaints completely!

Too bad they didn't do the same to the quote box. With your custom template, do you think you could make NTBB-style quote boxes?

Something like:

[user name] wrote: [date - gray - linked to post]
| [message]

Hmm. I think this is also a bit wide. Stretching the whole width makes me uncomfortable - I think the old WHS was better, at ~80% wide.

Any IPS desperately needs competent interfacers. This is exactly the same interface layout as IPB 2.0, except with new features tacked on badly. Their designers have done some nice work on it, so it doesn't look ugly, but it still looks unnecessarily complex. It needs a significantly better UI.

Agreed - because then also, users can have guaruntee to another user that will give them good feedback if they have a high rep. If ya' get me ? ;)

Oh yeah and an answer to your question, i can use the rating thing too.

Yeah agree too :D - AND it has syntax hilighting! Yay

<?php
     if($iscrap == true){
         echo "Get stuffed";
     }
 ?>

^ I would suggest something to, is it possible to customise IPB and allow tabbing in the Rich text editor?

IPB 3 drops IE6 support for the main theme. It probably just shows the Lo-Fi skin.

I love it Nathan!
Great work.
Very nice. Oh, it's the default skin :P

Besides, if your still using IE6 then you probably shouldn't be on a Webmaster forum, simple as that.
